Most people believe that Wicca is based upon witch craft. It's not, it's based on nature, and the sun gods and whatnot.
By popular definition, Wicca has always been associated with witchcraft. Even the rituals and practices are highly suggestive of such an association, as is the etymology of the word itself. How the religion has evolved and diverged has little bearing on its disputable origins, and how it is perceived.

I am Wiccan. I don't consider myself a witch. A witch basically goes through the motions but Wicca is more of a religion. Though some Wiccans do consider themselves witches and some don't. I guess it's down to what the person believes.

Because you're not a Wiccan, and what you're practicing is not Wicca. Would you call yourself a lesbian if you weren't a woman who liked having sex with other women?
I"m not practicing anything. I just like to read about it. Jeez. Get that through your stubborn head.
Whatever you're doing, reading or practicing, does not have anything to do with Wicca. Get THAT through YOUR stubborn head.
Who died and made you queen. Don't get your panties in a bunch. Sheesh, they're books, they could have nothing to do with Wicca, I don't really care. I just find it interesting.

I think it's good you read the fluffy, sugar coated books too. Wicca is about balance. So basically I think you need to read the good and the bad books. The thing that you need to do though is compare them. I know that ALOT of Wiccans have books by Silver RavenWolf, simply as a starting point and I don't think there is anything wrong with that. As long as you can learn from it and grow. I haven't read any of her stuff and not sure if I want to as I have only heard bad things about all of her books. But nonetheless, I haven't heard any Wiccans say they wasted their money. Cause as I said before, it's a starting point and also good to read so you can tell the good and bad books apart.

Thankyou for proving my point. I agree, I just read them to understand what people who are into practicing Wicca, and why they're doing it.
